ulrich medical at World Spine: Medical education at the highest level

Lunch symposia during the congress and practical courses in advance: ulrich medical played an active and comprehensive role in this year’s “World Spine 11”, held in Homburg/Saar from September 10 to 12, 2026. The manufacturer of products for spinal surgery is well known in the professional community for its own medical education events and once again emphasized its strong commitment to medical education.

The 2026 “World Spine” was held under the direction of Prof. Dr. Joachim Oertel, a long-standing clinical consultant to ulrich medical and Director of Neurosurgery at Saarland University Hospital, the event venue. ulrich medical organized two lunch symposia. Prof. Dr. Siegmund Lang, University Hospital Regensburg, and Dr. Karl Vanas, University Hospital Salzburg (Austria), discussed the treatment of thoracolumbar fractures and iliosacral fixations. Prof. Dr. Ralf Ketter and Dr. Univ. Magomed Lepshokov, both from Saarland University Hospital and therefore on home ground, focused on the treatment of cervical and lumbopelvic fractures. During the hands-on workshops held in the days before the congress, participating physicians were able to test various current ulrich medical spinal systems on human specimens. Artus, ulrich medical’s cervical spine plate system launched in summer 2026, was also used in the workshops.

Focus on dialogue with the professional community

“Innovation emerges where medical expertise and technological competence come together. Close dialogue with leading surgeons is therefore a key driver of our innovative strength,” says Friedrich von Rechteren, CEO and Chairman of the Management Board of ulrich medical. “Insights from clinical practice flow directly into the further development of our products. At the same time, we see it as our responsibility to actively help shape medical progress through high-quality medical education formats that transfer knowledge, promote professional dialogue and enable continuing education at the highest level.”

The ulrich medical education program in fall 2026

Following “World Spine 11”, the next events are just around the corner. Under the motto “Boost your treatment options, from primary treatment to revision, from the occiput to the sacrum”, Prof. Dr. Lukas Grassner, University Hospital Salzburg (Austria), will continue the program at Eurospine (October 7–9, 2026, Gothenburg, Sweden). There, he will not only present Artus, ulrich medical’s new cervical spine plate system, but will also be available in the congress consultation room on October 7 to discuss cases involving the uCentum PRO and uBase poly rod-screw systems. At the DWG Annual Meeting (December 9–11, 2026, Nuremberg), a high-profile lunch symposium will focus in particular on revision surgery and will be moderated by Prof. Dr. Marcus Richter, St. Josefs Hospital Wiesbaden.
